AAU Mega Tryouts
by Coach Wiese posted 10/26/2021

Great to see Travel teams up and running and looking forward to getting the In-House teams formed.

I have used this forum before to get out information on girls’ basketball AAU.  If you are interested in getting your daughter on an AAU team there is a great opportunity to do at the Mega Tryout. The link is below and everything is well explained. If you have any questions you can always contact me at

Players and Parents:

Good luck to all the girls attending tryouts this weekend. Do your best and be aggressive!

I always want to let all of you know of any clinic opportunities available to our EP girls.  On Sept 25 and October 9 from 10-11:30AM in the main gyms at EPHS, Metro Stars will hold player clinics for grades 4th through 8th grade. The girls will be divided into grade levels and will get great coaching and instruction.  The cost is $10 per session.  No pressure but again I always want to make sure all of you know of any opportunities in the area in case you want to take advantage of them.  if you have any questions please let me know.

AAU Season & Tryouts

Parents and Players:

I wanted to reach out to you all about AAU.  As many of you know the girls’ AAU season runs from March until the end of July for the older girls and until mid June or early July for the younger girls. I believe the AAU experience can and should be a wonderful one for girls who are serious about basketball. What is vitally important is who your daughter will have as a coach and the philosophy of the club.

AAU is indeed a big time commitment and girls have to be dedicated to the sport to want to practice a few times per week and play on weekends during the summer. But for those who really want to take their game to the next level, meet new teammates, and travel a little, AAU is  a wonderful opportunity.

Most MN clubs have teams starting for 4th graders thru juniors.  For tryout information you can go the clubs’ websites. Please note that whether you play AAU or not has absolutely no bearing on me and forming EP high school teams.  It is just like my youth clinics—an opportunity to improve your game if you so desire.  I have had so many EP parents say they didn’t know anything about AAU so i wanted to offer my knowledge and resources to those who want to pursue this route.  I am connected with MN Metro Stars but other clubs to look at:

  • MN Fury
  • North Tartan
  • MN Stars
  • Crossfire
  • The City
  • MN Suns
  • MN Comets
  • MN Heat
  • TC Takeover

to name a few.  Again, any questions please let me know at
