The Eden Prairie Girls Basketball Association (EPGBA) is an all-volunteer group of Eden Prairie citizens who support girls in Kindergarten through 12th grade participate in and learn about the game of basketball.
The EPGBA provides In-House (recreational) and Travel programs, as well as offers player and coaches clinics, tournament play opportunities, and summer training and open gym experiences to promote and support girls basketball in Eden Prairie, MN.
The In-House basketball program starts out with a non-competitive clinic for Kindergartners that runs once a week for approximately eight weeks starting in January. The 3rd-12th grade in house programs include a weekly practice and officiated games usually played on Saturdays. Registrations for the 3rd through 8th grade teams begin in September with the season beginning in early December. Registrations for the 9th through 12th grade teams begin in December with the season beginning in January.
For student athletes looking for a more competitive brand of basketball we offer a Travel program that starts in 4th grade and runs through the 8th grade. Registrations begin in August. The Travel program requires student athletes to attend two try-out sessions in mid-September and commit to two practices a week and weekend games and tournament play. Coaches, including both non-parent paid and parent volunteers, for the Travel program are selected through a rigorous selection process.
The EPGBA is governed by a Board of Directors that meets every third Sunday of the month (except December and February) to conduct business. The time and location of regular board meetings are posted on the EPGBA website. Anyone interested in contributing to the girls basketball program in Eden Prairie is welcome to attend board meetings. We are always looking for volunteers to help make the basketball experience for our student athletes a continuous success. Please contact one of the EPGBA Officers (see 'Board' tab on the left) for more information.
