Give & Go Mentoring Program

Goals of the program are to:

  • Create an interconnected Eden Prairie Girls’ basketball community by promoting mentoring relationships between high school players and girls in the youth basketball program
  • Build leadership skills amongst the high school players as they mentor and support younger basketball players
  • Provide youth basketball players with positive role models in their mentors
  • Create enthusiasm and community wide support for Eden Prairie girls’ basketball

How does it work:

  • In-House and Travel Teams will be mentored by the high school players.
  • High school mentors will attend youth team practices and/or games during their season
  • Youth players will receive free admission to the high school girl's basketball All Youth Night varsity home game by wearing their basketball uniform or spirit wear (2021-22 date TBD)
  • Travel teams will be a “Spotlight” team for varsity home games. This includes sitting on the bench during warm-ups and visiting the varsity locker room before the game
  • In-House teams are invited to attend the All Youth Night varsity game
  • All youth players are invited to participate in a community service project with the high school mentors

2022-23 Give & Go Mentoring Save the Dates:

  • Monday, Nov 21nd 5:30-6:15 PM - Mentor Match Up Pizza Night: At this kick-off event, the high school mentors will enjoy pizza alongside the mentee youth teams.
