Program Focus
The purpose of the Rookie (Kindergarten) League is to provide a fun environment for developing a strong skill-based foundation into the game of basketball. Fundamentals are introduced thru entertaining games and drills designed to provide participants with a core foundation to the game.

The Rookie League focuses on many of the primary skills and drills that your daughters will see throughout all levels of the Eden Prairie Girls Basketball Program.

When and Where Do the Kids Practice/Play?
The season will run from December 6th to February 14th.  Rookie League will practice Monday night at Cedar Ridge in Eden Prairie.  Practice will run from 6:15-7:15 PM (last 15 minutes are open play/shooting).

No clinics over winter break or when school is not in session (12/27, 1/17 and 2/21).

Registration will be limited to 30 players. Any kids on a wait list are not guaranteed a spot.  No player will be allowed to participate in practices until ALL fees are paid.  Financial assistance is available for those in need on a case-by-case basis.  Please contact our Treasurer for more information.

Volunteer Opportunities
For the EPGBA to run a successful Rookie basketball program, we are looking for 2-3 Rookie Commissioners and will be seeking additional volunteers throughout the season as Parents on Duty.  Please visit our In-House volunteer tab for more details.

Each player will receive a T-shirt and a junior-sized (27.5”) basketball.  Players should bring their basketball, filled water bottle and face mask/gator to practices.
