In-House Volunteer Opportunities

In order to run A season and A SUCCESFULL In-House program, we are in need of volunteers.  Please consider volunteering or co-leading a role with a friend. Without you, our upcoming In-House season is at risk!
 

In-House VP Co Lead:

  • Establish key program dates such as: Clinics, Parent Meeting, Coaches Meeting, Season start and end dates.
  • Setup annual In-House registration in the system and send program communications.
  • Work with Coaching Directors to offer various open gyms/clinics throughout the season.
  • Ensure inquiries and/or complaints received related to the In-House program are addressed directly, or by a Coaching Director or another member of the Exec Committee.
  •  Assign In-House Teams
  • Work to hire and assign a Lead Ref and Refs for games
     

Grade Commissioners: (1-2 Volunteers per grade - Rookie, 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th)

  • Assist In-House VP & Coaching Directors with setup/take down at clinics
  • Assist with player check-in at clinics
  • Add work with Coaching Directors and In-House VP to form teams
  • Assist with grade level communications, as needed
  • Assist in getting coaching bags, jerseys, and trophies to the Coaches. 

Uniform Coordinator (1-2 Volunteers):

  • Coordinate In-House jerseys including selection and ordering through EPGBA’s vendor; and distribution to coaches/teams.

Equipment Coordinator (1-2 Volunteers):

  •  Ensure team coach bags complete with a first aid kit, basketballs, practice pull-over jerseys, a ball pump and other necessary equipment. Coordinate coach bag delivery and return.

Team Photo Coordinator (1-2 Volunteers):

  • Work with EPGBA’s professional photographer to take individual and team photographs on an announced date for all inhouse teams.

Awards Coordinator (1-2 Volunteers):

  • Coordinate In-House year end awards including selection and ordering through EPGBA’s vendors; and distribution to coaches/teams.

Scheduling Coordinator (1-2 Volunteers):

  • Schedule team practices and Saturday game


Head Coaches/Assistant Coaches: (1 Head Coach and 1 Assistant Coach per team)

  • Attend the coach’s clinics and training offered by the Association
  • Work with all girls on team to develop the fundamental skills of the game
  • Follow and grade level development drills in practices as outlined by the Coaching Directors
  • Set up and takedown the courts (basket height) for practice or games
  • Follow the EPGBA code of conduct
  • Assist with implementation and enforcement of EPGBA’s COVID-19 safety procedures

Coaching manuals and general practice schedules, outlining the basic skills relevant for your players will be provided for you to work from.  No Coaching experience is required! EPGBA's coaching director, Derrick Branch, is also available to provide additional resources to coaches on effective practice planning, and how to keep it fun. 


Team Managers: (1 Team Manager per team)

  • Facilitate team communications regarding practices/games, any reminders, pictures, etc
  • Coordinate Team Parent on Duty (POD) signup for team
  • Assist with implementation and enforcement of EPGBA’s COVID-19 safety procedures
